When Hawk Host first launched our semi-dedicated hosting plans, the idea was to create an upgrade path for shared hosting customers who needed some extra resources but did not want to host in a VPS or cloud compute environment. However, our customers’ average hosting needs have changed, and with that, we’re expanding our semi-dedicated hosting packages to include more options and higher resources!

This might look like old news to some of you, and you’d be right. We have offered these products before! We recently updated our CloudLinux product lineup, and that seemed like a good opportunity to explain how you can use CloudLinux products and what benefits we’ve seen from them at Hawk Host!

Last month, we detailed our compute platform’s ability to easily add OS images, highlighted by our addition of FreeBSD as an OS to our cloud computes. Today, we’re announcing the addition of AlmaLinux 10, aka Purple Lion, the most recent stable release of the AlmaLinux OS!

Hosting websites is second nature to us after doing it since 2004, but we know it’s brand new territory for a lot of people… and that’s totally okay. We’re putting together this guide to help cut through the jargon and explain the buzzwords that often make web hosting sound more complicated than it really is.
