Posted on Thu Jun 4, 2009 by Tony Baird

A post that came from my personal blog that now just points to the hawk host blog.  I figured this was worth transporting so here it is.  I have no idea how accurate it is or if the code 100% works but I believe it does.  If you do find any mistakes just post about them in the comments and I’ll correct them. Zend Framework 1.8

Posted on Tue May 5, 2009 by Tony Baird

I just finished going through every single hosting machine we have making sure that the latest version of Zend Framework was part of the PHP include so it’s not necessary to upload it.  It was released last week and we just got around to putting it on all our servers.  As always if you need an older version or if our version is out of date you can always upload your own copy to your space.  This version is really only meant for testing and development and should not be relied on in a production environment due to the fact we always try to have the latest version available. Seattle Live

Posted on Mon Apr 27, 2009 by Tony Baird

Our Seattle location is now live and offering shared and reseller hosting services.  Right now we have just one machine live called Titan but I’m sure if it’s popular we’ll be adding more servers.  It of course offers all the same services shared and reseller services our other locations offer so no compromise there.  Virtual private servers may or may not come that is undecided it’s a new location and we’re feeling it out first before going and offering a much more expensive service.  You can check out the full announcement at http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394 Read More

The Server is Overloaded

Posted on Sat Apr 18, 2009 by Tony Baird

This has got to be my favorite type of ticket we get because it never makes any sense.  I don’t know if it’s all the “non overselling” hosts spewing servers are overloaded if you sell more than 250MB space on a $10/month hosting account or what.  But we have had an increasing number of tickets titled this where it has nothing to do with a machine being overloaded at all.  Apparently no matter what the problem is the server is overloaded is the cause.  Here are some examples of recent tickets, chats and calls I’ve seen with regards to the servers being supposedly overloaded.
